Who doesn’t enjoy a nice warm bath? I bet everyone would agree it’s one of the most relaxing things you can do. But most of you probably haven’t taken a bath in months, if not years. I suggest you change that and here is a great excuse to do so. The therapeutic bath. Whatever ails you, whether physical or mental, you can support your body through epsom salts and oils.
Epsom salts can be found in your local drugstore and only cost a few bucks. When it is dissolved into water it breaks down into magnesium sulfate easily absorbed through your skin. The most common reason people use epsom salts are to relieve soreness of muscles and stiff joints but there are so many benefits of magnesium for your body. Some benefits include bone health, heart health, easing PMS symptoms and migraine head aches, along with reducing anxiety.
Couple these salts with essential oils and you have yourself a powerful bath bomb.
In order for oils to dissolve into the water, you must first mix them with the epsom salts. Otherwise the oils will just float at the top of the water and you won’t receive the maximum benefits.
First fill a measuring cup with 1 cup of epsom salts. then drop 15 drops of your oil(s) of choice into the salts. Mix up and let it absorb. Sprinkle into your warm bath and enjoy.
*I only put about 6-8 drops of oil in the salts for kids
