Oily Gift Guide

The holidays are coming in HOT and we need to jump on the train before it runs us over. Most years I am a procrastigifter (noun: a person who procrastinates gift shopping to the last possible moment and ends up printing off a picture of what WILL come in the mail the week after Christmas)

This year is different, Hallelujah! I have decided to share my love of oils and the benefits that come with them with all my friends and family members. Hopefully they won’t read this until after Christmas because SPOILER ALERT, they might be getting some of these things…. move along Mom…. move along.

I took major advantage of the Young Living November Essential Rewards promotions and bought almost all my gifts through my wholesale account. Some may call this a selfish move, I call it savvy, because I got back $196 worth of product FO FREE and yes I am keeping them. I also got back like $50 worth of points for a future order! Everyone wins here.

Let me break down some gift ideas for you…

BUY

The Manly Man

Need something for the man in your life? Try a Deep Relief Roller (Peppermint, Lemon, Balsam Canada, Clove, Copaiba, Wintergreen, Helichrysum, Vetiver & Dorado Azul) for sore muscles and pair it with a charcoal bar soap for a deep cleanse after a workout.

The Extras

What about multiple teacher/babysitter gifts? Grab a bag of 4 chapsticks and 4 shower steamers, open them up, mix & match and throw it in a gift bag with a favorite relaxing oil like Lavender or Peace & Calming or a DIY bath salts jar.

The Fast-Paced Friend

Know someone who is on the go a lot and needs a little self care? Grab the holiday gift bundle of Young Living’s personal diffuser and 5ml Lavender. Don’t like lavender? Pair the diffuser with another calming oil such as Stress Away or Peace & Calming. Do they travel a lot? Pair it with Thieves so they can keep the germs away on airplanes and in hotels.

The Commuter

Does one of your family members have a long commute to work? Give them a beautiful car diffuser and one of your favorite oils. I suggest Christmas Spirit because it smells amazing and is full of “happy” oils to brighten their mood and their day.

The Classic

A classic gift is a mug with hot cocoa or tea. Spice up this one with a Vitality oil or two that tastes great in a hot cup. Peppermint for cocoa, Lemon and Thieves for tea.

Stocking Stuffer Jackpot

Grab a set of oils to make up your favorite trio and put them in a candy cane holder.

Immunity Trio – Thieves, Lemon, Frankincense

Beverage Trio – Orange, Lemon, Peppermint

The Christmas-aholic

Is there someone on your list who is a Christmas-aholic like me but has a fake tree? Get them a diffuser ornament so they can enjoy the true smells of Christmas without the allergies and mess of a real tree. Diffuse oils like Christmas Spirit, Northern Lights Black Spruce, Pine and Cinnamon Bark to put the magic in the air on Christmas morning.

DIY

To go along with my awesome purchased presents, I am also going to DIY the heck out of some gifts for everyone. Here are great ideas that will make your people happy all while keeping your wallet in tact.

Super simple Christmas diffuser garland:

Take wool felt pom poms, yarn and a large needle and string them in whatever pattern you want! Tie a loop on each end to help with hanging. Pair the garland with a bottle of oil so your loved one can put a few drops on the pom poms and enjoy during the holidays. I suggest Pine, Northern Lights Black Spruce, Peace & Calming , Peppermint or Christmas Spirit.

Dryer Ball Snowman:

Package 3 wool dryer balls in a see through plastic gift bag and draw a cute little snowman face on it. Make a construction paper hat and a ribbon scarf and viola! Add an oil to round out the gift. I would go with something simple and classic like Citrus Fresh or Purification to eliminate odors. Thieves to kill germs.

Candle:

Candles are great because everyone loves them and you can personalize it to the recipient of the gift. Find the right container to speak to their personality and pick an oil that will help them with whatever they may need.

Bath Salts:

A mason jar of therapeutic bath salts is sometimes just what the Dr ordered. Most people don’t take the time to pamper themselves but they will carve out time to use a gift. I know I have a few people on my list that fit that category.
